Description: Happy Ever After (Traditional Chinese: 金玉滿堂) is a 1999 Hong Kong grand-production television period drama. A TVB production, the drama was produced by Chong Wai-kin, written by Chan Ching-yee and Choi Ting-ting, and stars an ensemble cast. The drama is set during the reignof the Qianlong Emperor of Late Imperial China’s Qing dynasty. The drama tells of a story regarding the struggles of a poor chef and his best friend earning an opportunity to serve the Qianlong Emperor, also befriending the emperor along the way. The drama also places an emphasison Chinese cuisine with documentations concerning the Manchu Han Imperial Feast.

东官（欧阳震华）天生一条“皇帝脷”擅尝天下美食，小小（陈妙瑛）擅煮麻辣，为替父报仇，不惜出卖东官，令他背上欺君之名，被迫由广州逃至京城。当小小得悉东官是无辜，逐负荆请罪，二人终冰释前嫌，且情愫渐生。而二人合力炮制的“夫妻肺片”更获皇上（江华）赏识，东官因此被选入御善房，从此平步青云，成为皇帝身边的红人。东官的好友勉良是一个才华横溢的穷书生，其指腹为婚的未婚妻债蓉要求他只有考取功名，才能谈婚论嫁。大考期间，勉良因发现有人作弊而得罪了监考官被轰出考场。倩蓉因此弃他而去，一直默默支持勉良的翠花嫁给了他。在东官的推荐下，勉良终于得到皇上的认可并委以重任。皇上的宠妃—德妃，受太后挟迫离宫三年后又回到皇上身边，并在一次突发事件中救了太后的命，令太后改变了对她的偏见，皇上的心情愈来愈好。
